This is a project. All I left to do is get that pulley off. Any suggestions on that?

Since you already have the front end off, you might want to replace the headlights while you are there

What are you doing on it? I’ve done a timing belt on an allroad, so I’ve been in there before.
I seem to recall a weird tool to get a pulley off, but I may have used a big wrench and a big flathead screwdriver.

Your probably thinking of the fan clutch which with some improvising we got off. My cooling fan and fan clutch crapped out. I got an electric conversion kit.

That’s the one. It was a pain in the ass. Electric is the way to go.

Bolt cutters.
Also: I'm known for bad advice.

Have you tried cursing at it and hitting it with a hammer?

A steering wheel puller might work.

Buy or rent a 3-jaw puller.

After looking into it it looks like the whole assembly is just on there with a few bolts

I tried explaining service mode to the fiancé... she didnt understand how it could be so difficult to work on something. The most she’s seen is me replace the battery on her moms FX35 (have to take half the engine covers off). Wait until she sees a heater core job... the entire front interior has to be taken out.

I just sold my 4.2 to CarMax on Monday.
Good fucking riddance.
